Real Work, Real Stakes: Dynamo Students Step onto a Major Music Video Set

When a last-minute call went out for a wake boat and a crew to support a major music video shoot, Chattanooga delivered. Within 48 hours, the entire production had relocated from Nashville, locations were locked, and several Dynamo students were embedded in working roles on a professional set.

This is exactly the kind of opportunity Dynamo is built around: not simulated projects or classroom exercises, but real productions with real expectations and real outcomes.

The shoot for the “No More” music video moved through some of Chattanooga’s most distinctive creative spaces, including the Choo Choo, the lake, downtown, the cyc wall at 148 Studios, and Deadbird Studios. The production was supported by a seasoned creative team with credits spanning Usher, Burna Boy, Diplo, and others. And woven into that team were Dynamo students, filling genuine crew roles from the first call time to the final shot.

That quote wasn’t about the locations. It was about the people. Dynamo students showed up prepared, professional, and ready to perform at the level the production required. They didn’t need handholding. They rose to the occasion because they’d been building toward exactly this kind of moment.

One student served as the primary photographer, shooting nearly all the production stills from the day. Another supported the lighting team. Another ran gear. And when a cast member didn’t show, a student stepped into the acting role without missing a beat.

Classroom skills become career skills when students get access to professional environments. That’s the Dynamo model, and this shoot is a clear example of what it produces.
